After one period the game remains scoreless. Both teams have had their chances on the power play but couldn't convert. MSU leads in shots on goal, 11-9. Each team had three penalties.

MSU's Andy Sackrison had the best opportunity so far just a couple minutes into the game, but his shot from the slot was blocked by BSU netminder Orlando Alamano.
