OK, let's review. Here was your post-season recap of Maverick sports at the end of the 06-07 school year:

"Big news came after the season when Minnesota State announced it was bringing back head coach Troy Jutting for a couple more years. Good call. Not only were the bigger names (former North Dakota head coach Dean Blais was one fans liked to throw around) unattainable financially, but they don't have the connection with the school and the town. Jutting bleeds purple and gold, and he cares deeply about the success of all sports here at MSU."

Without question, he is rippable on a number of things. I called for his job a year-and-a-half ago in this publication. But not since I have been here has a future looked so bright for this program. There is a lot of returning talent and there are some very nice recruits coming in next season. You can credit Jutting, as well as assistants Darren Blue and Eric Means for that. They deserve a couple more seasons."

The future bright? Nice recruits? Good call for bringing back Jutting? Yeah, the guy "bleeds purple and gold," but he's been bleeding the program to death. When will it be that these recruits all gel and get good? Oh yeah, right when the leave the Mavs! Coincidence?

Hope you are on to something that apparently any Maverick hockey fan can't see...looking forward to your analysis this season.

I don't agree with you at all. I have been a Maverick Fan for years and you can't blame everything on Jutting. Yes he could do things differently at times but so could every WCHA coach in the league. Don't tell me you would never rip on Lucia. Seriously man..Jutting is committed to the team...and there is no question about that; its some of the tactics that are brought to the ice that can be questionable!

Not a fan of NHL draftee Andy Sackrison leading your top line? Ben Youds is going to be a special defenseman by the time he's a junior. Channing Boe is someone that will become a fan favorite by season's end. Brett Peterson is an unselfish type that takes pride in playing tough in front of the net. Kurt Davis has already seen plenty of ice time, and will be a fixture for years to come. Not to mention the recruiting class he brought in last year, and the offseason they just had. Zach Harrison needed to add about 10 pounds, but instead, put on 15. As did James Gaulrapp. Jerad Stewart was already the strongest player on the team and he maintained himself just fine. Kael Mouillierat and Geoff Irwin are already contributing on the second line...

Personally, I think Jutting ( and Blue) have done a fine job recruiting over the past 16 months... That will not be the problem.

Now we'll see how good of a coach Jutting is. If he doesn't have things at least on the right track by the end of next season, his excuses are gone.

I think Jutting has done a good job recruiting to and there are no excuses for not putting a good team on the ice. But knowing Jutting he will mess it up in some way and this team will go on to continue the way of slow starts, early season losses, which in my opinion is inexcusable
